Florida nonprofit founder launches bid to substitute Crist in Congress

Nonprofit founder Audrey Henson is leaping into the race for Rep. Henson, a Pinellas County businesswoman who started a nonprofit that will help college or university pupils protected congressional internships, joins two other Republicans  Anna Paulina Luna and Amanda Makki  in the key to replace Crist in Florida’s 13th District. 

In a online video announcing her campaign on Wednesday, Henson hammered residence her Florida roots and solid herself as a challenging-line conservative, vowing to “support our police” and “protect the southern border and the Port of Tampa in which illegal immigrants and medications are smuggled in daily.”

The race for Florida’s 13th District, which encompasses most of Pinellas County on Florida’s Gulf Coastline, is amongst the state’s important congressional battlegrounds in 2022. 

Crist, a Republican-turned-Democrat, isn’t in search of a fourth term in the Dwelling up coming 12 months and is as a substitute working for Florida governor, leaving his Property seat open and increasing Republicans’ hopes of recapturing the district after dropping it in 2016.
